The classically-trained, Parisian-born guitarist first hit the contemporary jazz scene in the mid-90's with his Classical Soul album. Marc Antoine enjoys taking his listeners to extraordinary and exotic places: on his Madrid album from 1998, he went on a musical exploration of the romance of Spain's capital city; he explored various world rhythm influences and combined these sounds to craft 2000's Universal Language; and in 2001, Marc teamed up with Tommy LiPuma, Chairman of The Verve Music Group, to produce Cruisin, and worked with host of noted jazz musicians to bring to life Marc's spirit of joyous melodies. On Mediterraneo, his first album project issued in 2003 for Rendezvous Entertainment, we find Marc bringing together the diverse musical traditions of the Mediterranean: classical, flamenco, Latin, jazz and even Euro-pop.
Marc has worked with a number of musicians, including Basia, Soul II Soul, Guru's Jazzmatazz, Queen Latifah, Sting, Maya, Rod Stewart, George Benson, David Benoit, Dave Koz, Peter White and Rick Braun. Marc also has provided music for the films "The Fan," "Get Shorty," "Celtic Pride" and "Midnight in the Garden of Good And Evil" (a duet with Paula Cole).
