It seems that his 12-year run in the NBA as one of the league's premier forwards was a primer for what he would accomplish off the court. His first four album releases broke Billboard's Top 10 Contemporary Jazz Album charts. The bassist's current project, Hang Time, has Wayman collaborating with Dave Koz, Jeff Lorber, longtime friend and gospel music producer Tracy Carter and Pieces of Dream co-founder James Lloyd.
